About fluconazole

What does it do?

Thrush is a fungal infection, commonly caused by a type of yeast called candida. Although candida is naturally present in the body, an imbalance can trigger thrush symptoms. Fluconazole 150mg (also known as Diflucan and other brand names) kills certain types of fungi and restores your body's natural balance.

Taking fluconazole for the first time

Fluconazole treatment for thrush is simple - just one capsule to be swallowed with a glass of water. You can take this medicine at any time of day, with or without a meal.

How effective is it?

Women taking fluconazole should see an improvement within a few days. Some women will notice improvement in 24 hours.

For men, the condition can take a little longer to clear up. The symptoms should clear up within a few days, although this can take up to a week.

If your condition hasn't cleared up within one week, you should consult a doctor.

Cautions when using fluconazole

Thrush is an infection which can occur without sexual contact, so it is not a sexually transmitted disease. However, the infection can be passed on during sex, so it is recommended that you should not have sex until the infection has cleared up.

If you regularly suffer from thrush, then it's advisable that both you and your partner have thrush treatment at the same time.

Taking too much can make you unwell, so contact your doctor or nearest hospital immediately if you take more than you should.

Side effects of fluconazole

Diflucan Information

Diflucan is a prescription medication used to treat a number of skin infections caused by Candida species. It can help prevent the development of candidiasis in the skin, which is the most serious form of candidiasis and can affect the whole body.

This medication belongs to a group of medicines called antifungal agents. It is also used to treat infections caused by Candida, including Candidemia, Candida vulnificans, candidiasis of the vulva, and Candida pneumoniae. Candida infections are usually superficial (i.e. no symptoms), and the majority of the time, the infection is localized on the skin (or the mucous membranes).

The medication is prescribed in a tablet form and is usually taken once or twice a day by mouth. It can be taken with or without food. The medication is absorbed by the skin, usually around the mouth and the lower or upper arm.

It is important to follow the instructions on the drug label or the package leaflet supplied with the package. The dosage and length of treatment depend on the type and severity of the infection and the individual's health status.

If you are taking a drug called azoles or a combination of the two, you should start with a lower dose and increase it as needed. This will not only help to clear the infection but also allow the medication to pass through the pores in the skin. If you are taking the combination drug, then you will need to increase the dose slowly as well. It is important to be aware of this when taking the combination drug and to consult your doctor before using it together with the medication.

Diflucan is not suitable for women, children, or pregnant women.

How to Use Diflucan

Diflucan should be taken exactly as prescribed by a doctor. Follow the instructions on the drug label or the package leaflet supplied with the package.

If you are taking a drug called antifungal agents such as clotrimazole or griseofulvin, you should take it with food.

Diflucan is available in strengths of 150 mg and 200 mg. You should not use it more than once in a 24-hour period.

You should not take it with dairy products or antacids containing calcium, calcium, or magnesium. Taking this drug with antacids or dairy products may also increase the risk of stomach bleeding, so avoid using this product and contact your doctor if you have any of these symptoms.
